Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day is a American R&B/Soul singer-songwriter. The Grammy Award, Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award are just a few of the many accolades she has earned. She was also nominated for an Academy Award. Andra Day, a gifted singer-songwriter with roots in blues and gospel music that has a passion for the current world. She is much not just an R&B throwback master. Her ability to blend her influences of jazz, gospel and the blues into the R&B style is quite impressive. Her debut album Cheers To The Autumn (2015) is a smash record in the hiphop/R&B genre and led to a number of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. After growing up living in San Diego and surrounding areas, she began performing in church and enrolled to at the School of Creative and Performing Arts. She switched her attention towards the contemporary R&B and pop when she graduated however, she was eventually attracted back to the jazz and soul singers that she listened to when she was a kid. Kai Millard Morris recorded a show of Day which she later shared with her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's music. Motown famous Adrian Gurvitz then introduced Day to music industry veteran Adrian Gurvitz. Day joined forces with Gurvitz's Buskin label and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, built a following on YouTube before signing to Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her first track Forever Mine. DJs began playing the track in radio stations. After that, she signed with Warner Bros. Records and began working with producer Adrian Gurvitz to record her debut album, Cheers to the Fall (2015). The album featured the hit single Rise Up that became an song for the social justice movement across the globe. Day was nominated for two Grammy Awards including Best R&B Album. The United States against Billie Holiday is a concept recording about the legend jazz singer. It was released by Day in the year. The United States against Billie Holiday was released in 2021, the year she appeared as Holiday. Andi Mathichak was born in the US. She made her television debut in series such as 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods before making her film debut as Allyson Nelson, in the horror film series Halloween and its sequels. Andi Matichak was an American actress born on 03 May 1994 in Framingham Massachusetts United States.
